The creation of a large new dormitory has enabled us to move from three tier to two tier beds, and to ensure each child has their own individual space.

All classrooms have had new floor tiling and been decorated throughout

We have created fire escape routes as required for all dormitories

Previously, some children were sharing beds and the beds were triple bunks. With the creation of the new dormitory, we have now reconfigured all beds to double bunks, and each child has their own individual bed.

Renovation to the kitchen counters to ensure hygeine and cleanliness.

A new shower block has been built for the girls dormitory area

Children are now able to eat their meals comfortably inside

We have new desks for our senior school. We especially enjoyed the unique delivery method!

Fire extinguishers have been installed throughout the school

This was a major project requiring the purchase of land behind the school to access the main sewage. It has made such a difference to the school.

At present the children's possessions are stored in boxes, generally kept at the end of each bed. For fire safety reasons we need to move these onto racks.

In April 2025 the Ministry of Education inspectors added a number of additional requirements which we have been able to fund from existing resources. This includes benches under the lunch shade, First Aid kits, Whiteboards for teaching, upgrade to science lab, fresh water point.

Most of our cooking is done by traditional fire. Catering for 600 children we want to convert this to a gas system

Boxes are currently stored at the end of beds but need to be moved to racks because of fire hazard.

Our kindergarten playground needs to be enhanced to create a safe and pleasant space in which the children can play.

Provide a separate toilet and cloakroom for kitchen staff

As part of our focus on vocational training this will provide a location to improve agriculture

Gutters need replacing a fixing to keep dormitories and classrooms dry

We need to erect new fencing around the Vocational Centre and the land to the rear. This extends quite some distance to the sewage pipe entrance you can see at the very back of the picture

We need to erect a new stone/concrete wall for security purposes, replacing the existing corrugated iron fence which has been patched up.

This is an ongoing project to replace all toilets, which were traditionally flat holes, with modern flushable toilets.

Repair of old metal roofing which leaks during the rainy season

Many teachers live on site and the conditions are currently unacceptable by any measure.

As required by the Ministry of Education to put the reception in a more central and visible location

A place where children can convalesce without passing any sickness to others.

With 600 students and 40 staff, waste is considerable and upgrades required to ensure long-term sustainability

This is one of our most exciting projects. We are turning this newly acquired building into a vocational centre to meet curriculum requirements, and ensure each child leaves school with a clear pathway for the future.

Repurposing the central area by compacting and levelling the earth.

We already installed a primary school lunch shade and wish to do the same for the senior school to enable students to eat and socialise outside

A bus is needed to enable the children to participate off-site, especially related to vocational and sporting activities.

CCTV is required to monitor activity on site, especially since some of our children are under protection orders from violent family members

Now that we have more beds we require additional blankets

From time to time, new uniforms are required

Now that we have connection to the mains sewage we can re-purpose the area containing the iogas unit.

An additional Ministry of Education requirement

All internal roads and pathways are currently mud. By paving them we will improve safety, and especially cleanliness during rainy periods.

The land acquired with the house needs to be cleared and flattened ready for future vocational use
